AMSA Premedical Chapter at Case Western Reserve University
A Proud Nominee of the Dr. Dorothy Pijan Student Leadership Award

The CWRU premedical chapter of AMSA is a student-run organization open to all undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students. Our chapter is open to members from CWRU, Cleveland Institute of Music, and Cleveland Institute of Art. Case premedical AMSA seeks to promote activism through increased understanding of our complex healthcare system. Case AMSA supplies students with the opportunity to increase their awareness of local and global health issues by promoting active improvement in medical education; involving its members in the social, moral and ethical obligations of the profession of medicine; assisting in the improvement and understanding of world health problems; and creating an interactive and stimulating learning environment that promotes networking and advice amongst its members. Our members are supported in their admissions process to medical school through the establishment of mentoring programs through the medical school chapter of Case AMSA and health-related activities and projects that extend the premedical experience beyond the classroom. In addition, our AMSA chapter is a member of the Case PanHealth Advisory Council, collaborating with other pre-health organizations on campus to deliver the best in programming available to CWRU students.

Our MISSION STATEMENT
"Case AMSA exists to serve the Greater Cleveland community through volunteer opportunities and provide a resource to undergraduates interested in the health professions. We hope to connect students with similar interests and provide opportunities for these students to become active in advocating community health."

The Framework of our Chapter
With a strong belief that today's premedical students are at the frontlines of sparking change in the U.S. health care system, our chapter promotes activities that are catered around the theme of "Health care is a right not a privilege." We believe that everyone, no matter their age, race, sexuality, or income, should NOT be denied adequate health coverage. Our programming is designed to incorporate this theme and educate our members on the state of health care delivery in the United States and around the world.
