The 2008-2009 AMSA's Elected Governing Body Debra Zauner, Co-President
A second year executive board member, Debra is a junior biology and psychology major at CWRU. She is excited to expand her leadership skills this year by leading AMSA's Executive Board as Co-President. In addition to AMSA, she is the secretary of mock trial, a clarinetist in the marching band, and an office assistant at University Hospitals Case Medical Center. Brad will serve as student adviser to the organization, after having led AMSA from 2006-2008 as Co-President. While at CWRU, he studied Nutritional Biochemistry and Art History, and is pursuing MPH work at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill School of Medicine and Public Health. Eckert is also an AMSA National Associate Coordinator in Health Policy, working on legislative issues of concern to premedical and medical students. His favorite TV show is Brothers & Sisters. Kyle Strodtbeck, Vice-President
This is Kyle's second year with AMSA's executive board, now serving as VP and overseeing all project management for the Board. He previously served as Co-Director of Public Relations. A junior, Kyle is a Physics major with a Chemistry minor. He is a Math Student Instuctor on campus, and his favorite courses include MATH 121 with Chris Butler. His interests within medicine center on Cardiology. He enjoys a good burrito and frequently visits Chipotle to fill his cravings. Sowmya Gadiraju, Secretary

This marks the first year on AMSA's Executive Board for Yashar, where he chairs the membership committee and oversees all recruitment efforts for the chapter. He is a sophomore at Case. MORE TO COME SOON. Jimmy Ibrahim, Medical School Liaison
This is Jimmy's fourth year in Case AMSA and his first as a member of the Exec Board. He is a senior Biology major and spends his time serving as a Student Instructor for Physics at Case and being a member in the Middle Eastern Cultural Association and Students for Justice in Palestine. As Medical School Liaison for AMSA, he oversees the club's efforts in outreach and programming with the Case School of Medicine and their AMSA chapter. Ibrahim is a fan of Carrabba's Italian restaurant and claims Human Anatomy as his favorite class at Case thus far. Jimmy was elected as the 2007-2008 Case AMSA Member of the Year. Nithya Nagaraj, Community Health Director
A CWRU junior, this is Nithya's second year in Case AMSA. It also marks her first year on the Executive Board,serving as Director of Community Health Programming. Her responsibilities include expanding volunteer and outreach efforts to local health-related organizations and ensuring AMSA remains committed to reaching out to its neighbors and community. Her favorite foods include pancakes and any Indian dishes. Some of her hobbies include swimming, running, reading, and traveling. Rosalyn Gholston, Co-Publicity Director
Rosalyn is a sophomore at Case, studying Biochemistry with minors in Sociology and Psychology. This year marks her first year on AMSA's governing body, but second year of involvement with the Case AMSA chapter. In addition to AMSA, she volunteers at the Cleveland FoodBank and is involved with Habitat for Humanity and biochemcial research at a local hospital. Her current medical interests includes cardiology and oncology research. Her favorite food is tacos and relaxes by listening to music (especially jazz) and traveling. Allie is serving her third year on AMSA's Executive Board, this year as Co-President. She previously served two terms as AMSA's Community Health Director. She is a Nutritional Biochemistry and Metabolism major, with a minor in Economics. As a junior at CWRU, she is also active in Delta Gamma and Hillel. Her medical interests include preventative medicine and public health. Allie's hobbies include running, singing, and traveling. Jennifer Gulas, Student Adviser & Immediate Past President
Jen will serve as student adviser to the group, after having led AMSA for two years as Co-President. This Fall, she'll be starting a masters program in Applied Anatomy. As an undergrad, she studied Chemistry and Spanish. In National AMSA, she will be assisting in the development of premedical programming for the Gender and Sexuality Action Committee for 2008-2009. A third year member of AMSA, this is Erica's second year on the Exec Board. It is also her second term as Director of Student Programming. As SPD, Erica oversees planning and implementing various premedical activities, such as the MCAT Clinic, medical school panels, and the annual medical school fair. A senior, she is majoring in Biology and Anthropology. She is active in Phi Mu and the Spartan Dance Team. She spent Spring 2008 in Europe for Junior Year Abroad. Robert is a sophomore at Case and was appointed to the position of Co-Publicity Director in February 2008 by the AMSA Executive Board. He is now serving his second year on AMSA Exec, this time as Treasurer. He is also involved with the public relations and planning of events with the Cognitive Science Student Organization, as well being part of the Alumni Relations Committee and in his fraternity of Theta Chi. This marks Jeffrey's third year in AMSA and first on the AMSA Executive Board. He is a junior Biomedical Engineering major and will be serving as our chapter's first director of health policy affairs. In addition to AMSA, he is involved in Case's Biomedical Engineering Society and volunteers at the Cleveland Free Clinic. His medical interests include pediatrics and internal medicine. His favorite class at Case has been Bioethics 271: Dilemmas. Shuster's favorite local restaurant is Anthony's in Little Italy and credits his grandma for cooking up delicious food! Ryan Peters, HIV/AIDS Coordinator
This will be Ryan's second year in AMSA and his first as a member of Exec. He is a sophomore Biomedical Engineering major with a minor in Political Science. His responsibilities this year include overseeing our chapter's major efforts in placing HIV/AIDS as a concern to the student body. AIDS remains one of the most important points of focus for AMSA. In addition to the organization, he also is a violinist in the University Circle/Case Symphony Orchestra. Peters' favorite class at Case has been Math 227: Calculus III. Doug Voelker, Physician Shadowing Program Director
Doug is a senior at Case and will be serving his first year on the Exec Board as Director's of AMSA's Physician Shadowing Program. He becomes the second director since the program started in Spring 2007. His main duties willbe to oversee the planning and organiztion behind one of the chapter's largest ongoing projects. He is a Biomedical Enginnering major, with minors in Chemistry, Biology, and Biochemistry. His medical interests include plastic surgery and anesthesiology. His favorite food is cornbread. This is Jeannie's third year in AMSA and first on the Executive Board. She is a senior Biomedical Engineering major with a minor in Japanese. She is involved with Omega Tau Zeta, Mortar Board Honor Society, AEMB, and Golden Key Honor Society. She is interested in reconstructive plastic surgery. Her favorite restaurant is Shinano, a Japanese cafe. Hobbies of Jeannie's include playing the piano and the flute. |
