Elections 2008
We are in the midst of an historic Presidential election. Not only are we able to choose amongst a unique group of candidates, our country is currently faced with monumental problems on a multitude of issues. As advocates for the nation's health, our immediate interests in our patients and our profession intersect, short-term or long-term, with every other issue on the national agenda from the war in Iraq to the economy to our public school system.
Tomorrow's Doctors Vote
In previous elections, AMSA members have won the right to generic medications and more than $30 billion for AIDS treatment and family planning. With the right elected official, we will have the opportunities to also address issues important for medical students: ending student debt, getting pharmaceutical companies out of our schools, ending discrimination in the workplace and against our patients, among others.
