FAQ
Here is a listing of frequently asked questions.
If you have a question not listed on this page, please send it to us via the Contact Us page.

Q: How can I become a member of AMSA?
A: Information about becoming a member of AMSA is available by visiting our Membership section on our website. Please understand that in order to list AMSA as one of your involvements, you must be an official member of the organization...which means you must pay national dues. Medical schools, employees, and other programs have been known to call the National Office or our chapter to verify your involvement with the club. If you have not paid dues, you will NOT be considered an active member of the organization.

Q: How often do you hold meetings?
A: General Body Meetings are held on the FIRST thursday of each month. The Executive Board meets every two weeks to ensure programming is in order for the general body meeting. Executive Board meetings are closed to the general body, unless an invitation is sent by the presidents. General body meetings are open to ANY interested individual, regardless of whether they have paid dues.

Q: How can the organization issue proclamations for various events?
A: Proclamations for various events or organizations are made by vote of the Executive Board. If the proclamation is approved by the Board, it is then encompassing of ALL members of the Case AMSA chapter. Generally, proclamations are issued for specific-themed weeks (such as the National Public Health Week) or our supporting organizations (such as with the One Campaign, which draws attention to AIDS and poverty).

Q: How can I request a guest speaker for a future meeting?
A: We are always working to bring exciting and interesting guest speakers to our general body meetings. If you have a suggestion of a speaker for a meeting, either a specific individual or type of speaker you would, please contact us at here. Past speakers have included the Admissions Deans from Case Med and Cleveland Clinic Lerner COM, representatives from other area medical schools, physicians in various specialities, MCAT test prep center directors, and more.

Q: How do I get to serve on the AMSA Executive Board?
A: Elections for all positions are held at the end of each school year. For information about how to run for a position, please consult our club constitution. For any questions on elections, please contact us.

Q: I wish to become a supporting organization of AMSA. How can I do this?
A: AMSA is always interested in partnering with other campus, local, and national organizations that either promote a health message we believe in or provide a framework for premedical interests. If you would like to contact our presidents to discuss becoming a partner of Case AMSA, please send us an e-mail at pres@caseamsa.org or send information via the CONTACT US form on our website.
