STATS: Students Teaching AIDS to Students
Taking HIV/AIDS Education into the Community

The STATS Program began in Fall 2006 under the direction of then HIV/AIDS Coordinator Amanda Slater. The program sends AMSA members into the local community, where members teach children about HIV prevention and treatment. They address myths, facts, and questions regarding the disease and general health promotion. The program is now under the direction of HIV/AIDS Coordinator Akanksha Rao.

About the Program
Training sessions have taken place throughout 2006 with the help of Bob Bucklew, Outreach Coordinator of the Clinical Trials Unit at University Hospitals Case Medical Center. The last round of training sessions will take place in September 2007. After sessions are completed, students will go to the local Boys and Girls Club to teach students about HIV and AIDS.
Next Sessions
The next training session will be in September 2007. Check back later for a confirmed date and time
